 Calvin Peete stood as a true trailblazer in the realm of golf. He clinched victory in 12 PGA tournaments, served twice on the United States Ryder Cup Team, and secured the Vardon Trophy for achieving the PGA tour’s lowest scoring average in 1983. Before the rise of Tiger Woods, Calvin Peete held the record for the highest number of African-American PGA tournament titles. Beyond his exceptional accomplishments, Calvin Peete's dignified demeanor and professionalism earned him profound respect, not only among fellow golfers but also among a global audience, whether they were golf enthusiasts or not. His legacy became a large motivation for future generations of golfers. 

Calvin Peete won over 12 Professional Tournaments and finished in the top 10 in many others!

1. Accomplished the win for the Greater Milwaukee Open in both 1979 and 1982;
2. Triumphed in the B.C. Open and Pensacola Open in the Season of 1982; 
3. Awarded the 1984 Vardon Trophy for Lowest Average Score on a PGA Tour;
4. Won the Tournament Players Championship and the Phoenix Open  Tour in 1985;
5. In the year of 1986, Calvin took victory for the MONY Tournament of Champions and the USF&G Classic PGA Tour;

Calvin Peete wore two hats - that of a professional golfer and a cherished resident of the North Fort Myers community. In his youth, Calvin suffered a misaligned arm injury that was never properly set. Despite this challenge, he embarked on a unique journey, simultaneously delving into the realm of golf while working as a traveling salesman, peddling clothing and other wares to migrant workers to sustain himself. His initial start into the sport took root in 1966 when he was 23, gradually igniting an intense passion for golf. By the age of 28, he transitioned into a professional golfer, his perseverance paying off as he eventually conquered the PGA Qualifying School after just a few attempts. This accomplishment marked the beginning of a remarkable journey, punctuated by 12 triumphant PGA Tournament titles and 2 Japanese Tournament victories, all fueled by his unwavering dedication to the sport he held dear.
